The Legend of Sleepy Hollow — Midnight Collection, Issue No. 02

One skinny schoolteacher. One borrowed horse. One very late ride home. ♥

It's autumn, around 1790, in a sleepy Dutch valley near Tarry Town, New York. Ichabod Crane is the new schoolmaster, and he has his eye on Katrina Van Tassel (and her family's overflowing farm). There's a harvest party, a rival named Brom Bones, and a local ghost story about a Hessian soldier who lost his head to a cannonball and rides out every night to look for it. Then comes the bridge, the pumpkin, and the hat left lying in the road.

Washington Irving published the tale in 1820, and we tell the whole thing in plain, fun English, with the real history of the valley behind it.
